TRUJILLO IN MUD AND COLOR
(3 days / 2 nights)
Day 1: Trujillo
- Transfer: Airport to Hotel. (Previous day for the night or the first day in the morning).
- City Tour: The tour begins in the Main Square, Cathedral, Urquiaga House, La Merced Church, the Emancipation House, Iturregui Palace and finally the visit of the Museum of Archaeology of National University of Trujillo, to have a general vision of the Pre Hispanic development of the region.
Day 2: Trujillo
- Breakfast.
El Brujo Complex
- We go out to the Chicama Valley to visit the Archaeological Complex “El Brujo”, administrative center of the Moche culture located very near to the sea. The Huaca Cao is the visited place. The last year was discovered a royal tomb intact, this belongs to an important woman of the nobility that is called “The Lady of Cao”.
In their walls there are designs of prisoners, warriors and other important ceremonial depictions.
The Oasis of the Moches
-Visit of Huacas del Sol y la Luna, capital of the Moche culture. At the moment it is in excavation Huaca de la Luna, thanks to the contribution of the Backus Company. We can observe the beautiful murals with the representation of the god Ai-Paec, also known as the “Decapitator.”
Day 3: Trujillo-Chan Chan
- Breakfast.
The Chimu Route
- Visit of Huaca Arco Iris or The Dragon, located to the north of Trujillo. This temple was built by the Chimu culture, and it was part of Chan Chan. After this visit we go to see the Site Museum of Chan Chan, and then we enter to the Tschudi Palace that is the only one open for the tours in Chan Chan.
Finally, we finish the tour in the fishing village of Huanchaco, famous because of until now the fishermen used the “Caballitos de totora”.
-Transfer to the airport or bus station.
